The concept of my project is a digital, interactive three-dimensional environment. My second test of the RealityCapture photogrammetry software was carried out on a section of my proposed subject for digital restoration: the Armoury building at the Boathouse at St. Keverne’s Quay, Radford Lake.
While the circumstances of the photo shoot were not ideal (a blue-sky day with strong, low sunlight caused shadowing on the outside of the structure), I am satisfied with the result.

Just 10 minutes walk from my home is Radford Lake, a picturesque body of water set amongst woodland and parkland. At one end of the lake, hidden amongst the trees stands the ruin of an old boathouse.
This site lends itself well to my proposed final year project at Plymouth University because it is easily accessible, can be photographed from (almost) 360 degrees, and there are some archive images available from which it should be possible to digitally recreate the structure and its surrounding environment.

As part of my research for my final year project at Plymouth University, I contacted the Plymouth Archaeological Society to see if their members had any suggestions for heritage sites that might potentially be appropriate for photogrammetry and digital restoration.
A member of the Society suggested the now derelict saw mill that stands at the head of Waterhead Creek near South Pool in Devon. I was also advised that the Kingsbridge Cookworthy Museum held archive photographs of the mill when it was a going concern. Today, I decided to investigate further.

My final year project will involve the use of photogrammetry to create a 3D model of an existing item of cultural heritage significance, for instance: the remains of a building, building interior, or individual objects.

Outline of area of study/context
My area of study/context is very much related to my dissertation; however, rather than looking at how artificial intelligence can be used in conjunction with the cultural heritage preservation applications of photogrammetry, I will looking at how software applications and my own skills can be used with photogrammetry to bring to life and restore gaps in an artefact, building or location that is part of our cultural heritage.
